Fast cruiser Walkabout 39

The project

Planing hull lines, light displacement, large sail area, triangular shape, straight vertical bow and large maximum beam which extends up to the stern, are the design features inspired by the most modern ocean racing yachts.

The goal is to get a hull that can reach, with the utmost confidence and control, a good speed especially downwind typical of ocean sailing with the trade winds.

The deck equipment

The boat is equipped for offshore sailing with a reduced crew. All lines are led back to the cockpit; The main sheet traveler is managed with a winche on the center tower.
The reefs have a dual circuit (two reefing lines for each reef) in order to be able to reduce the mainsail even in solitary and downwind and without leaving the cockpit.

The pulpit is very robust and as well as allowing the use of the gennaker, has inside the hardware for the receiver of the anchor chain.

The swim platform on the stern is more than three meters long and is convenient access to the sea when you are moored in a bay and the ideal place to hold the tender when sailing

The interiors

Bright, airy and comfortable interiors
The interiors include one large bow double cabin, two double aft double cabins and a bathroom.
The L-shaped kitchen is made for living on board and to be able to use in navigation, also in rough seas! Tilting galley with two or three burners, sink of adequate size and placed close to the center-line of the boat. Large refrigerator with two openings on the kitchen worktop.
Chart table with double seat.
Dinette with sofa and table with folding door.
Very important is the storage capacity for larger food stocks before departure for a long jorney and to make a boat your home.
A lot of space even in the large stern lockers aft and in the sail locker on the bow.
Each zone is greatly ventilated and illuminated: in the dinette 2 large side Plexiglas windows with integrated 4 portholes (2 in the kitchen and two in the bathroom), 2 large hatches placed on the deck-house in saloon and 2 in the cabin; the aft bunks are equipped with 2 portholes each.
